Our body, mind, and spirit are all interconnected. New nutrition rules actually identify that our primary nutrition sources come from our relationships, career, physical activity, spirituality and more. It is equally (if not more) important than the food we consume.


Many times when chronic pain or illness is present, there is a mental or emotional block that’s causing it.


In my story, I suffered from chronic lower back pain (and frequent debilitating spasms) for more than 8 years before I realized the cause was my not having my own back and not setting proper boundaries for myself. Now, if I start to even feel a twinge of pain, I know to notice where I’m out of integrity (saying “yes” when I want to say “no;” saying “no” when I want to say “yes”) or where I need to hold a boundary with someone (even myself).


Did you know that the logical, reasoning, and language part of your brain processes 40 bits of information per second, while your body (more specifically your nervous system: sight, sound, taste, touch and smell) processes 11 million bits of information per second? Yes, you read that right: 40 bits versus 11 million bits. This means your body is much wiser, faster, and smarter than logic and reasoning. (It’s why there’s an adage: “Trust your gut.”) 


The challenge is that our body doesn’t have language to communicate, so it does so through physical sensations (like pain/illness) and visual symbols.


Life coaching can help you translate these sensations and symbols so that you can understand the root cause of your pain or illness, and what your body wants you to know about how to fix it.


The good news is that our body is many times self-healing given the right circumstances. If we make the right changes in our life, we can create the best environment for our body to heal.
