Autumn's Invitation to Reset, Release & Realign

Fall forest sun setting

Welcome Autumn Equinox, the balance of light and dark, where we have the opportunity to harmonize and re-set the rhythms we’ve created in our lives, release what no longer serves, and realign ourselves to our highest potential.

You may or may not have noticed that I took a summer break from monthly blogging and newsletters. After 8 years in business, I decided to take a step back from the marketing and managerial “to-do” lists of busy-ness to reevaluate what was working, what needed to evolve, and what was ready to end.

In order to truly listen to my inner knowing, I needed to settle into the spaciousness of habituated stillness. To become habit, it required grounding and centering into stillness over an extended period of time – without the conditioned voice of “shoulding” telling me what to do to keep my business running.

This voice sounded like, “What are you doing!? You can’t do nothing! You have to keep doing all the things: social content creation and curation, newsletters, blogs, published articles, new workshops to offer, blah-blah-blah. You know this! You even have a degree in this. If you don’t then you’re dead in the water! Quick – do something! Anything! Go-go-go!”

I even had to get comfortable with the possibility that my business could altogether close up shop…if that was truly what was in my highest good.

Goodness, my ego did NOT like that one bit! That process looked like a whole series of temper-tantrums of resistance. (Fascinating to observe from the other side now, but when you’re in it, it can feel like an ego-death...well, because it was.)

Turns out, when you give the dedicated time to make stillness and space your starting place -- rather than something you schedule in amongst the noise and doing -- you gain a whole lot of clarity, especially in areas you may not even have been looking for clarity in.

And a miraculous thing happened. The opposite of what my ego threatened. Demand for scheduling sessions actually INCREASED.

New clients came in. Old clients asked to get back on a regular schedule. Folks I hadn’t heard from in nearly five or six years reached out. All while I focused inward, not outward.

And with this disproving of limiting beliefs that to grow a business you have to engage in all the marketing hoops and hurdles, I got to feel into each aspect and “Marie Kondo it.” Does this activity bring me joy? Am I doing it because I feel I “should,” or because I actually enjoy it?

Writing, and connecting to people through my writing, lights me up. So with that inner-knowing affirmed, you’ll continue to see regular blogs again.

What is sunsetting, at least for now, is the Nature Centered Academy. While I loved teaching and sharing the tools of transformation, the work on the back end to keep the business running was energy-draining. So, until a solution arises (such as administrative help), I have shut down the academy. All trainings will be done through Jenn Bauer Healing on a tool-by-tool basis and as demand presents itself.

You may notice some other changes as this phase of evolution moves from internal to external-facing, and I invite you yourself to take a second look at my services and offerings that you may have previously dismissed because they may feel more in alignment with you now.

For anyone who’s ready for their own Fall Reset, I invite you to do similarly with the daily, weekly, and monthly “to-do” activities that you have on your list that maybe you don’t question (or haven’t in a really long time). Which ones truly light you up while doing them? Which are you doing because you feel like you “have to” or “should?” Are they still relevant and required?

If you really, truly “have to” (like paying bills), how can you make the process more enjoyable and in alignment with your true nature? Or can you barter with, say a spouse or technology (app), to trade a chore or errand for one that feels easier and more natural?

May you lean into re-setting -- and if you can give yourself permission to have a sabbatical of spacious stillness, going into the Fall season as days get shorter and nights get longer, this energy of moving inward will assist you in that intention.
